Buzzing events are popping up all around the 512, including clothing markets, runway shows, and industry networking events. Here’s a roundup for the must-attend fashion experiences for those wanting to add new pieces to their wardrobe, connect with others, and transform the city into their personal runway.

1. Time Travelers Vintage Expo
Saturday, March 29 | 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Palmer Events Center, 900 Barton Springs Road
The largest retro market in the U.S. is bringing hundreds of vintage clothing pieces, jewelry, art, and home goods with styles and price points for all. There are $10 tickets available in advance and $12 tickets at the door to support small businesses and curators in a sustainable and exciting setting.
2. Strive Networking: Fashion & Business Networking
Monday, April 26 | p.m. – 8 p.m.
Location: Parlor and Yard, 601 West 6th Street
Strive Network is hosting an event to connect young talent with professionals in the fashion, art, and business worlds. Made for everyone in the industry from designers, consultants, and entrepreneurs, this event will form potential collaborations and bridge relationships with unique individuals. This is an affordable way to expand one’s network with tickets ranging from $0 to $20.42.
3. UFG Annual Capstone Collection Fashion Show
Saturday, April 27 | Doors 7:30 p.m.
Location: Texas Science & Natural History Museum, 2400 Trinity St.
The UFG annual Capstone Collection Fashion show is only one month away. On April 28, the collections of UT fashion design students will be seamlessly presented down the runway. UFG members have many opportunities to get involved including modeling, production, hair and makeup, and media roles. 4. Slow Fashion Maker Mart
Saturday, May 3 | 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: The Jones Center, Co-presented with The Contemporary Austin
The Slow Fashion Maker Mart is throwing a sustainable fashion celebration in collaboration with the Contemporary Austin, Tenant of Culture. With the purchase of a $5 student ticket or $10 adult ticket, shop from the collections of innovative designers and grab refreshments during a rooftop cocktail hour. It’s an exciting time for engaging with others who are passionate about sustainable fashion and to get a closer look into their designs and mindful processes.
5. East Austin Clothing Swap
Sunday, May 6 | 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
Location: Ruiz Branch, Austin Public Library, 1600 Grove Blvd
The East Austin Clothing Swap offers a communal and sustainable shopping experience in support of a meaningful cause. In collaboration with SAFE Austin, all donations will benefit domestic violence survivors. Bring gently used clothes to swap with others and add some new pieces to the wardrobe!
6. Austin Fashion Week
May 8-10
Location: The Domain, 11410 Century Oaks Terrace
Austin Fashion Week takes over the Domain with runway shows, pop-up shops, and industry events for the 17th year. For those eager to attend or volunteer, this is a great opportunity to gain first-hand experience in face-past fashion production, connect with others in the industry, and see the garments of local designers.
