Nahomi is a senior in Textiles and Apparel with a focus on design and sustainability. As a person, Nahomi is social, enjoys spending time with friends, and likes working with kids. This love for connection and creativity is reflected in her design work; as a designer, she’s attracted to delicate and flowy designs but is expanding her palette with one of her male looks.

Nahomi has a non-traditional approach to selecting a fabric and then beginning the design process by draping it over the mannequin to manipulate the fabric. For her collection, Nahomi uses sheer, sexy mesh and fabric in sequence to create her flowy looks. Two of her looks are more “bird, feathery-like,” while the other two are more “wing, butterfly, and moth-like.”

On the runway, Nahomi is thrilled to see her full collection come to life, as she can finally see her pieces take shape. When asked about her connection to winged creatures, Nahomi said: “I like more of the flowy silhouettes of the butterflies and the wings, and feathers.”
